2. Jobs Requiring AI Skills Have Increased 4.5X Since 2013

There’s been a noticeable increase in US jobs requiring AI skills since 2013 according to Forbes. On the other side, 54% of businesses have no plans in production for AI with another 22% no plans at all to implement artificial intelligence.

According to Accenture, ambitious businesses taking a chance on AI could see their productivity increase as much as 40%. Software powered by AI soon will be able to automate many repetitive tasks that are currently performed by humans. As opposed to replacing humans, AI advances allow customer service personnel more time for tasks requiring creativity and thought that machine thinking can’t produce. According to the Webby Awards Trends Report, AI technology is already in the lives of most people in America right now. As many as 79% of adults in the US stated that they used some form of AI in the last year. Up to 65% acknowledged that AI automation had a significant and positive impact in their day to day lives.

Scientists at MIT developed a AI-powered system in 2016 that they named A12. The system can supposedly tackle up to 85% of potential cyber crimes. With the ability to monitor millions of data points daily, and to flag suspicious activity, the system can leave a trail of legitimate activity for human agents to then investigate.
